CORPUS CHRISTI – We saw an increase in shower activity across the Coastal Bend this afternoon. However, the heaviest rain still remains to our west and northwest.

There is a flash flood watch in effect for McMullen, Duval and Jim Hogg counties. The rainfall is likely to shift over to South Texas this evening. This could lead to the potential for very heavy rain the next couple of days.

The forecast for tonight calls for mostly cloudy skies with a few more showers possible. Look for an overnight low around 74 degrees.

Abundant showers and thunderstorms will remain in the forecast through at least Tuesday. This will help to keep our temperatures cooler that average. Daytime highs will be in the mid to upper 80’s.

A little drier and warm air will settle in for Wednesday and Thursday. This will bring us the chance for only isolated showers on these days. It appears more widespread shower activity will return for Friday and Saturday.
