A large pocket of Gulf moisture continues to deliver some isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers across the Coastal Bend today. There have been some decent downpours with some areas picking up over 1-2 inches in a short amount of time. Though, the activity is very scattered because some locations have yet to see only a couple of sprinkles to a few hundredths. Still, it is bringing some relieve to the heat.
Tonight we’ll see a temporary lull in the rain activity overnight and then pick up again moving towards the morning commute. We’ll bottom out in the mid-70s.
Tomorrow we’ll still see an abundance of clouds which should keep our highs below seasonal average. Isolated to nearly scattered showers and thundershowers will still be moving through the area with some localized heavy downpours possible. Winds: ESE 10-15MPH.
The moisture associated with the upper-level disturbance bringing us the rain will move west and we’ll start to see a reduction in rainfall activity Tuesday and going through the rest of the week. With that said, each day presents at least a stray opportunity for a brief localized heavy downpour with the afternoon seabreeze and daytime heating, but will it be much less in aerial coverage than what we are seeing now.
With less rain means less cloud coverage and highs will push the middle to upper 90s by the end of the week. Heat indices will start to push over the triple digit mark with the extra humidity. We’ll pick up more clouds over the weekend, but the winds will also increase too out of the southeast and keep daily seabreeze rain chances on the low side.
