CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — United States Navy Veteran Richard Scott was buried today. His burial was an unaccompanied burial, but some folks showed up in solidarity.
The public was invited to the unaccompanied veteran burial on Wednesday Oct. 16 at 11 am.
"Mr. Scott has no known next-of-kin and the public is invited to help us ensure that he is not buried alone. We do NOT leave Texas Veterans behind 🇺🇸," their event page says.
According to the Texas Veterans Land Board, Scott served in the United States Navy from Feb. 24, 1970 to Oct. 16, 1972. He specialized in fire fighting and revived a National Defense Service Medal during his service,
Scott was given full military honors at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
