CORPUS CHRISTI — We've had some interesting tropical developments for us, with an easterly wave off the Texas coast slowing and strengthening.

The National Hurricane Center is labeling it as an "INVEST 98-L," and it is expected to bring heavy rain to the Texas coast.

While the system may intensify, it is too close to land to develop into too significant.

However, significant rains of 4-6 inches are expected in areas just to the north of Corpus Christi: Aransas Pass to Galveston will see flooding rain for the next three days.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with showers increasing. High 91.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with numerous showers. Heaviest rain north of Corpus Christi. High 90.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy with numerous showers. High 90.

Friday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers. High 91.
