CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx. — Deep breaths, we are through seven weeks of the 2019 high school football season. Breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out, we are more than halfway through the 2019 football season.

Everyone says that time flies when you are having fun. What about time flies during football season? It is amazing that we are sitting here now and the playoffs are on the horizon. Let's cherish these next few weeks because before you know it, football season will be over. Cherish the sound of the bands playing their fight songs. Cherish the concession stand food. Cherish the great athletes and most importantly, cherish the top plays!

Now that you are ready, here are the top plays from week 7 of the high school football season.

#3. Alice is still undefeated. Even if one of those wins comes from the other team having to forfeit, it still counts in the win column. This week the Coyotes played host to Floresville and got some help from their backup quarterback Jacob Guzman. Guzman earns the number three play of the week from dropping a beautiful pass right into the arms of receiver Waylon Moore who would take it the rest of the way. Alice won the game 28-1 and take on Somerset next week.

#2. Gregory Portland has been great this season. They lost some key players off last year's roster but have managed to string together wins so far and find themselves right in the middle of the playoff hunt, The Wildcats hosted Somerset in week 7 and got a huge boost from their running back Joe Sauceda who lands in the second spot for top plays. Sauceda is extremely fast and he shows it after hitting the hole and bursting off for a 55 yard touchdown run. GP got the big win 31-21.

#1. We finally have a Calallen play crack the list for top plays and this one was a good one! SA Southside has one of the best defenses in the district and Calallen is looking to show everyone else they are still the team to beat. The Calallen defense will be responsible for the top play this week and I am not mistaken, it is the first defensive top play this season. Brent Green made a big interception but the return was even bigger. He evades the tacklers and reverses field to take it all the way back! A pick 6! Calallen defeated Southside 24-7.
