The Calallen Wildcats defeated the Veterans Memorial Eagles 15-3 in a winner take all game three to advance to the area round of the UIL softball playoffs.
Lizette Del Angel led the way pitching and hitting for the Wildcats, she had a crucial two-run double in the 4th inning that broke the game wide open.
Head Coach Teresa Lentz knew that this would be a challenging series.
“Veterans Memorial has great hitting and a great pitching staff,” Lentz said. “They played their hearts out this entire series.”
After losing to the Eagles 20-4 last night, her team was able to bounce back in a big way to advance to the next round. They now will play the winner of Brownsville Veterans Memorial and Sharyland Pioneer.
