CHINA — Wingsuit flyers from eleven countries glided among steep peaks and deep valleys in Central China, putting on a breathtaking show for the spectators.

On the opening day of the 2019 Wingsuit Flying World Championship, 16 participants jumped off the thousand foot high Yuhu Peak and soared through the sky.

They were required to skim across the local square at a speed of about 100 miles per hour and then turn into the valley to glide for almost a mile before landing.

The spectators marveled at the adrenaline filled performances.

The championship was launched in 2012 and is held annually.

This year's event ends Sunday.
