SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Whataburger has announced plans for a $1 million contribution in the wake of the death of George Floyd in what it hopes will help end racial injustice across the nation.

The San Antonio-based company has announced it is donating $1 million to Feeding Students Success program, which will go towards providing scholarships and programs that promote the success of black and minority students.

Whataburger posted a statement on its Facebook page urging people to unite by "demonstrating the kindness and love we stand for at Whataburger."

"As a brand, we have always invested time, energy and money to support education. his year, we introduced a program called Feeding Student Success. Through this program, we support schools - ranging from pre-schools to community colleges and universities - and community partners, who focus on helping students succeed."

It's a noble gift that the company, long known for its community involvement, has made.
