HOUSTON — Voodoo Doughnuts will be opening its location in Houston with a grand opening announcement expected soon.
It will be the second Texas location for the Portland-based company that has made a grand production out of doughnuts for 17 years. It has operated a location in Austin since 2015.
According to Community Impact, Voodoo held a job fair last month to fill 70 positions for the Houston-area facility expected to open later this month.
The Houston location will be the chain’s first location with a drive-thru, according to Houston Eater.
The chain offers a unique menu with more than 100 different varieties of doughnuts. Some of its most unconventional include those made with bacon, Oreo cookies, marshmallows, grape-flavored Tang and Cap'n Crunch cereal.
Voodoo Doughnut was founded in 2003 by Kenneth “Cat Daddy” Pogson and Richard "Tres" Shannon III. The company’s logo features a version of Baron Samedia, Voodoo Loa of the dead.
