A new law will make sending an unwanted nude photo a crime in Texas.

According to the law, House Bill 2789,unless a nude photo has been asked for, the sender could face a $500 fine. The law applies to text messaging, apps, email, and any other platform where pictures are shared.

Governor Greg Abbott singed the bill into law last week. It will go into affect on September 1 with a whole slew of new Texas legislature.

“Many people – especially women – get unwanted sexually explicit pictures by text or social media. Now, it's illegal in Texas,” Abbott said in a Tweet.

It’s disgusting.
