Abilene becomes first Texas city to house all homeless veterans

City officials in Abilene are touting their achievements in becoming the first Texas city to house all homeless veterans.

According to WOAI-TV in San Antonio, Abilene Mayor Anthony Williams launched a challenge to end veterans’ homelessness within 100 days.

He says they achieved their goal.

Abilene Mayor Williams said the idea is to find housing for homeless veterans, which could help them turn their lives around.

But according to the Abilene mayor, he said they’ll continue working to reduce the overall homeless population in the city of Abilene.
