A security guard at a T-Mobile store in Houston was arrested after injuring a 6-year-old girl while shooting at a robbery suspect.

It began when two men walked into the T-Mobile store Monday afternoon in North Houston. One of the men grabbed a phone and took off. The security guard, identified as Christopher Jermaine Bradley, went after the alleged criminal, pulled out his gun and fired at the man, police said.

Bradley fired at least 10 shots in the parking lot of the store, hitting the alleged robber and the girl, who was in her family’s car at a McDonald’s next door, according to police.

The shopping center where the T-Mobile is located is directly next to the McDonald’s.

The girl’s father is still reliving the moments he realized his daughter had been shot.

“Me and my son, we ducked down, we knew it was close, people running all over. We ducked down and my daughter’s in the back seat and she says ‘daddy I’m hurt,” Danny Tidwell, the girl’s father, said.

Tidwell says his daughter had a 3-hour surgery to remove the bullet from her leg and is expected to make a full recovery.

Bradley has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
