(KPRC) Police believe that Joseph James Pappas II is the man who gunned down Dr. Mark Hausknecht two weeks ago in the Texas Medical Center.
Houston’s Police chief, Art Acevedo, says that Pappas’ mother had been a patient of Dr. Hausknecht when she died during a surgery twenty years ago.
“I don’t’ know when he decided to do this, but I’m familiar with how this murder was committed. There was a lot of planning that went into this, a lot of planning and sadly some skill and I’m just going to leave it at that,” said Acevedo.
Pappas was identified when someone recognized him on his bike from the surveillance footage and photos released by the police.
Police believe that Pappas is still alive and in the Houston area. They also warn that he’s very dangerous and assume that he’s armed.
