CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Working outdoors in the summer is not an easy task -- especially in the Coastal Bend.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has created a new app that allows workers to calculate the heat index for their work day. Usually, employees use their cars' temperature readings to record the heat, but that fluctuates every hour. This app allows companies to plan their day around the heat, and also receive warnings of when it can get dangerous. I'll tell you how one local business is already using it, tonight here on KRIS 6 News.
