The Trump Administration is looking for a new energy secretary.
Rick Perry confirmed this morning that he is resigning as secretary of energy.
Perry released a video that highlights the accomplishments that he and the employees of the energy department have made over the last few years.
The former Texas governor says he will leave his post by the end of the year.
He has served as energy secretary since the Trump presidency began.
“There's much work to be done in these upcoming weeks, and I remain fully committed to accomplishing the goals that I set out to accomplish at the beginning of my tenure,” Perry said. “And then, I'll return to my favorite place in the world, Texas.”
Perry is under scrutiny over the role he played in the president's dealings with Ukraine.
Just last week, three House of Representatives committees issued a subpoena for documents from Perry.
