New research indicates that children of today will likely experience more heat waves and extreme weather than their grandparents did.

A study published in the Journal of Science looked at international climate policies and estimated how many extreme weather events today's children will see during their lifetime.

According to the study, a child born in 2014 will likely see three times as many floods and 36 times more heatwaves than someone born in 1960.
