LAFAYETTE, Louisiana — Meanwhile, in Louisiana preparations are underway as Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura approach the Gulf Coast.
Sandbags are being made available for residents across the state.
This is video of one location in Lafayette, passing out sandbags.
"I think that we'll come through this just fine,” one resident said. “Like most Louisianans, we've been through this before. Not normally a double hurricane, but, you know, that new, but I think that after all we've all been through I think we can handle anything."
Sandbags are especially important to residents who live in areas prone to flooding.
Some sandbag locations are self-bagging and require residents to bring their own shovel and manpower.
