A student in Fredericksburg, Va., has been turned into a social media celebrity after giving his high school janitor a prized pair of tennis shoes he couldn’t afford.

Tristan McAllister is a student at Stafford High School, where he has become a friend of school janitor Angel Echevarria.

McAllister asked Echevarria what shoes he should buy for himself, and he was told Jordan 8s. The student asked him if he had a pair of his own and the janitor replied he couldn’t afford them because he has four children and can’t shot for himself.

Jordan 8s are the iconic model that Michael Jordan wore during the 1992-93 NBA season when the Bulls claimed their third consecutive title by beating the Phoenix Suns in six games.

The coast of a new pair of Jordan 8s is between $190 and $250. McAllister wanted to do something for his friend, so he bought him a pair of his favorite shoes.

Not surprisingly, that benevolence has gone viral on social media.

McAllister said he didn’t want to record the moment, but his mother wanted to see Echevarria’s reaction to the special gift.

What’s Trending.com reports that Ehcevarria was homeless for four years before obtaining his job at the high school.

School officials shared the video on Facebook, making social media stars of both of them.
