Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick released his controversial new Nike commercial by social media, highlighting a series of athletes who have overcome personal challenges to thrive in their sports.
Kaepernick’s new advertising campaign with Nike has prompted a slew of commentary both favoring and opposing his association with Nike in the wake of his social activism kneeling during the national anthem during his NFL playing career.
Some supporters have shared Kaepernick’s new agreement on social media. President Donald Trump has commented against it and others have destroyed Nike apparel in protest. The company’s stock has tumbled in the last several days.
Kaepernick shared his first Nike commercial by his instagram account on Wednesday. It is similar to most Nike ads with Kaepernick making twice in the 2-minute homage.
