A tunnel stretching from a Mexican home to a former restaurant in Arizona has been discovered by authorities.

The tunnel is 22 feet deep and extends 590 feet long, according to officials with the Department of Homeland Security.

The tunnel had been used to move illegal drugs from Mexico into the United States, according to DHS officials.

Authorities said they discovered the tunnel after pulling over a man and finding a wide range of drugs in his truck. Law enforcement said the man, who was the owner of the former restaurant, had been seen moving toolboxes from the restaurant earlier in the day.

Video released by the Border Patrol shows the tunnel, which is about 2 feet wide in certain parts, but only 8 inches at the opening of the U.S. Side. Authorities believe the smugglers used a rope the pull the drugs through the tunnel.
