Candidates holding local events before Election Day

The 2018 midterm election is just one week away, and many candidates are holding events in the Coastal Bend to connect with voters.

This morning, Democratic candidate for Texas Attorney General, Justin Nelson, will hold a meet and greet to discuss his campaign with members of the community. Nelson is running against incumbent Ken Paxton.

The meet and greet will begin at 8 a.m. at the Nueces County Democratic Party headquarters at 2701 Morgan Ave., Ste 600.

Also today, join Eric Holguin, who is running for U.S. Congress, for a march to the polls at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi. The event is to encourage young people to vote and will begin at 11 a.m. at 6300 Ocean Drive.

On Thursday, Beto O’Rourke will make another stop in the Coastal Bend, this time in Robstown. He will speak at the Richard M. Borchard Fairgrounds in Ballroom B at 9 a.m.

On Saturday, Ted Cruz will return to the Coastal Bend to speak at the American Bank Center’s Henry Garrett Ballroom, according to the Nueces County Republican Party. This event begins at 8 p.m. The Cruz campaign is asking interested potential spectators to register for tickets available through its Facebook page. More information will be coming about the event, which still has not been posted at the candidate’s Facebook page.
