CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Black-eyed peas and cornbread are a southern tradition on New Year's Day that's said to bring good luck and prosperity for the new year.

Besides being good for you, it's a tasty way to ring in the new year.

Are you planning on eating some this year, particularly as we try to rid ourselves of bad memories of the pandemic-ravaged 2020?
Will you munching on some Texas Caviar, seasoned with a piece of fat meat or straight from the can?
