CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — An 18-wheeler lost control on Hwy. 77 near County Road 18 early this morning, hitting a second 18-wheeler driving in the opposite direction.
The driver was heading northbound on Hwy. 77 about five miles south of Driscoll at a speed likely too fast for the morning’s wet roads, according to Department of Public Safety Sgt. Nathan Brandley.
“He wasn’t speeding,” he said. “But with the inclement weather, it was probably an unsafe speed.”
The driver reportedly crossed the median, crashing into the second tractor-trailer in the northbound lane.
No major injuries were reported, and Brandley said everyone was checked out at the scene.
