Several people are left shaken after a drive-by shooting targeted a property on the city's west side.

The Corpus Christi Police Department said the shooting took place just after 6 p.m. Monday on the 300 block of Baker Drive, which is several blocks away from Driscoll Middle School.

Norma Contreras told KRIS 6 News said a bullet hit her garage -- the very same garage she had been planning to clean out Monday.

Attached to the garage is an apartment, where two renters were staying at the time of the shooting. No injuries were reported.

"It's scary because I could've been walking toward my car," said Contreras. "I was going to start cleaning my garage, and it's like -- I wasn't there -- but it could've happened. And that's pretty scary. I'm very nervous right now thinking that something serious could've happened to one of my neighbors."

Contreras said she doesn't know why her home was targeted, but she says it's typically a quiet neighborhood.

One bullet casing was found on the ground outside the home, and a bullet hole was found on the garage.

Police said they currently are searching for a beige colored Chevy Silverado in connection with the incident.

If you have information about the shooting, you're asked to contact the police department immediately.
