We now know the identity of a suspect who shot another man over the weekend.
According to Corpus Christi police, a DPS Trooper was watching the intersection of Staples and Holly early Sunday morning, when a man drove up to the Trooper and told him he had been shot.
As more officers arrived at the scene, the suspect identified as 35-year-old Hector Lopez, drove up to the location and confessed he had shot the victim.
Lopez was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Police say Lopez knew his victim and this was not a random act of violence.
