CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Surf Museum dedicated its “Waves of Honor" memorial today.
More than 3,400 Texas soldiers were killed during the Vietnam War.
The name of each one of them is printed on one of these dog tags along with their rank and their hometown.
And each of the names was read aloud at this morning's dedication.
Some Vietnam veterans were on hand for the ceremony.
They say they appreciate the recognition they're finally receiving
The war was not popular. And at the time, many returning soldiers were shunned or ignored by the public when they returned home.
