As we reported earlier this week, some of the lights are out along a stretch of the Crosstown Expressway.
A lot of folks say, even in good weather, driving that stretch of the freeway at night can be a bit dangerous because of the minimal lighting conditions.
The Texas Department of Transportation said today it will be doing maintenance work on that lighting system next week.
As KRIS 6 News reported, some of the lights in the center median from Weber Road all the way to Agnes Street are out, but on Monday and Tuesday, crews will be troubleshooting and repairing the light's wiring system.
That work will affect commuters: The northbound, inside left lane on the Crosstown, from Gollihar to Agnes, will be closed from 9:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. on both days.
TxDOT said it plans to put out bids this month to replace all the center median lights from Weber Road to Agnes Street.
