CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The bumpy ride along Swantner Drive will soon be getting a lot smoother.
Work began today on a total reconstruction of Swantner from Indiana Avenue to Texan Trail.
The price tag for the project is just more than $7 million.
This is part of a Bond 2018 project and even the city admits Swantner Drive is in desperate need of repairs.
Swantner Drive’s sidewalks are buckling in some areas.
Along with new, ADA-compliant sidewalks both lanes of Swantner Drive will get new pavement.
The project also calls for new curbs, gutters and driveways as well as storm sewer and utility repairs.
A completion date is set for September 2022.
