CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — It was a big day for students at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Today, students were able to compete in the Ideas Challenge Showcase.
Islanders got a chance to present business concepts in front of judges for a chance at winning cash prizes.
The showcase was made possible through a partnership with the university's business school and the Buccaneer Commission.
It was funded through a $10,000 grant from Buc Days Rodeo proceeds.
"You come to Buc Days, you have a good time, the dollars generated from that come back to help initiatives like this,” said Johnny Philipello, president/CEO of the Buccaneer Commission.
The winners of today's competition will go on to present their ideas in College Station.
Last year's winner from Corpus Christi won second place overall.
