CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — All month long, KRIS 6 News has been taking a closer look at the homeless problem in Corpus Christi.

Tonight, we look at how life on the street began for some.

No matter what side of town you're on you can find them walking the streets or hanging out at local parks.

They are the homeless -- folks with nowhere else to go. But what landed them here?

Tonight, I speak to two men from different walks of life sharing the same reality.

We found them at South Bluff Park, cold and hungry.

"We are nearing freezing conditions with this wind chill how did you make it through the night?"

"Just stay bundled up and try to stay warm," said homeless resident Robert Green. "They run you out of this park and it's the only shelter they got; it's right here. Wake you up at 2:30 in the morning it's pouring down rain and tell you you got to leave, but you have nowhere to go."

Nickolas and Robert, the two men in this piece are like so many who find themselves struggling just to make it from one day to the next.

But despite their situation, they remain hopeful their best days are still ahead.
