CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Finding time to have some fun during the week can be difficult. That is why we have taken the time to compile a list of local events on every night of the week: Monday through Friday.

MONDAY

Funtrackers hosting military family appreciation night

USO South Texas, the United Way of the Coastal Bend, and Funtrackers have teamed up to celebrate Military members and their families this Monday.

The event takes place on Monday, August 5, at Funtrackers (9605 S Padre Island Dr, Corpus Christi, Texas 78418) from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Active Duty, Miitary Members, National Guard, Activated Reservists, and Gold Star Families are all invited to this free event.

There will be opportunities for prizes provided by the H-E-B in Flour Bluff.

TUESDAY

Corpus Christi is hiring at their hiring event

Working for the city definitely has it's benefits.

The easiest way to get hired by the city is to attend their hiring event brought to you by the Workforce Solutions of the Coastal Bend.

The event starts at 9 am on Tuesday, August 6, at the Sunrise Career Center (5858 S. Padre Island Drive, Suite 1, Corpus Christi, TX. 78412). The even will end at noon.

Jobs available will range in pay from $10 an hour to $12.77 an hour.

WEDNESDAY

Do Yoga and support the Ritz Theatre at the same time

Benefit yourself and the Ritz Theatre by doing yoga with Namaste by the Bay.

This weekly yoga class is held at BUS in downtown Corpus Christi and is taught by certified and experienced instructor Lacey Lawrence.

The class is donation based. Half of the donations go to efforts to restore the Ritz Theatre so that it can open again.

Whether you are a long time yogi or a first time stretcher, Namaste by the Bay is an amazing way to help your own flexibility and help a local cause. Guests are encouraged to bring their own mats, but their will be extra mats available.

The class is first come first serve and starts at 7 pm every Wednesday.

THURSDAY

Texas Biggest N Baddest Shark Tournament starts Thursday

The Shark is one of the biggest and baddest creatures in the ocean. Catching them is not easy.

Only the best of the best fisherman can compete in the 2nd Annual Biggest N Baddest Shark Tournament.

The tournament starts Thursday August 8, at 5 am and goes all the way until Sunday, August 12, at 2 pm.

Last year, Leonard and Hunter Gonzales of Tiger Team Reel Hung pulled in a 11'8" 806.5 lb Shark for First Place.

FRIDAY

'The force is strong in this one' at this Jedi Training Event

Star Wars fans of all ages are invited to participate in jedi Training.

Join the Janet F. Harte Public Library at 2629 Waldron Rd, Corpus Christi, Texas 78418, for a unique local event inspired by one of the biggest movie franchises of all time.

The event page promises VR stations, R2 droid racing, pool noodle light sabers, and arts and crafts for the whole family.

First come first serve while supplies last. it starts at 4 pm this Friday, August 9.
