CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The folks at the Nueces County Tax Assessor's office were busy today as people lined up to pay their property taxes.
Tomorrow, Dec. 31, is the I.R.S. deadline to take a write-off on this year's taxes.
"Some C.P.A.'s advise their clients to pay the year on or before Dec. 31 if they're gonna take the tax write-off for that year," said Kevin Kieschnick, the Nueces County Tax Assessor. "Some say you don't have to, so we always tell people, just talk to your tax advisor and take whatever their recommendations are."
January 31 is the deadline to pay your property taxes to avoid penalties and interest on what you owe.
