CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Crews from the refinery terminal fire company took part in a highly realistic training exercise today at The Port of Corpus Christi.
The drill required them to do everything they would do fighting an oil terminal fire.
These training exercises are done on a regular basis, but this is the first time a drill was conducted at the pin oak oil terminal, which just went online back in April.
"At the end of the day, again it's about drill, drill, drill...planning, planning, planning," said Sean Strawbridge CEO of the Port of Corpus Christi Authority. "Again, the more we're prepared, the more that we're going to be able to reduce the consequence of any event, then we're going to increase that resiliency."
Port police and the Port's fire-boat personnel also took part in the exercise.
