PORT ARANSAS, Texas — A popular tourist attraction in Port Aransas has fallen victim to vandals.

As you can see, someone hacked away at the handrails at the nature preserve gazebo at Charlie's Pasture.

Workers say it looks like it was done possibly with an ax.

Police believe the vandalism happened sometime over the weekend.

The gazebo was one of the undamaged structures left in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

“It's sad to think that there's people walking around doing stuff like that,” said Glenn Johnson, a tourist from Illinois. “I mean, it’s not against another person, per se, but still it does affect people.”

The Port Aransas Police Department is offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the vandalism.
