Over 600 people receive water during Stripes water distribution

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city of Corpus Christi held a water distribution event Saturday Feb. 20 to help citizens after the Big Freeze.

The distribution event was held at the Stripes located on 2050 Saratoga. The line was extremely long as folks waited to collect two cases per vehicle.

The distribution was held in conjuction with Stripes and the city mayor Paulette Guajardo.

"We got this together fast, giving back to the community. We purchased the water and got extra water for the community," said Piper Scott, Stripes Public Relations.

Over 600 people received water bottles and about 20 Stripes employees volunteered for this last minutes event.
