CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association will consider a rate hike again and opposition to that move is already growing.
In August, TWIA’s Board of Directors voted not to increase rates for residential and commercial policies.
That’s after hearing protests during a public hearing in Galveston.
Next week, a TWIA committee will discuss taking a potential rate hike to the TWIA board.
The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and other local officials will hold a news conference on Monday to speak out against that possible rate hike.
