CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Next stop, West Oso ISD.
That's where the RTA is unveiling their newest bus stop this morning.
The RTA is calling it a "school spirit" bus shelter, decked out in the West Oso District's signature colors or red and black. And of course, their bear mascot is prominently featured.
The goal is to promote safety for students while building a relationship between schools and the RTA bus system.
“The spirit behind it is that they can come to school - obviously we do provide transportation as well - but sometimes they need additional help and support with that,” West Oso ISD superintendent Conrado Garcia said. “RTA certainly fills that gap."
The new stop is located in front of West Oso Junior High where students and staff participated in the high-energy ribbon cutting ceremony this morning.
