CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Driscoll Children's Hospital has opened a new sleep center.

It is the only pediatric sleep center in South Texas.

The center will be used to help evaluate and treat babies, children and young adults who have sleep disorders.

We spoke with Erica Camacho who took her 4 year old son Johnny to Driscoll Children's hospital. Camacho said she traveled an hour and half from Victoria, Texas for his appointments to make sure he got the right treatment for Johnny's severe sleep apnea.

"The problem was resolved and now he can enjoy everything and now he can go to sleep not even having to worry about anything, its just peaceful. Sometimes we don’t even know he’s asleep because he is so quiet," said Camacho.

Camacho said after going to the appointments her son is now able to have a peaceful nights rest in just a few weeks of his appointments.

“Ask questions, ask questions never ignore any concerns you have when it comes to your child," said Camacho.

Treatment can be done in person at the hospital in Corpus Christi or via In-Touch, a telehealth platform used in Driscoll satellite clinics.
