A dehydrated woman was found in her home thanks to a mail carrier who noticed an overflowing mailbox.
According to a post from San Patricio County Sheriff Oscar Rivera, a mail carrier reported the overflowing mailbox to a supervisor who tipped off local authorities.
"The deputy got no answer at the resident so a second deputy who also works the area was called. He knew the occupant’s son who was contacted but lives out of the area," Sherriff Rivera's post says. "Deputies still concerned went back looking through windows. One of the deputies saw someone on the floor. They forced their way in and found an elderly lady on the floor in the bathroom dehydrated but still alive."
Sinton EMS was able to transport the lady to the hospital. No word on her current condition.
