CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A group of local Donald Trump supporters are rallying in the parking lot of the old Sears store in what they are calling a "Stop the Steal" rally.

But today supporters are at the lot at Airline and McArdle to protest the results of the November election.

Supporters of President Trump started rolling in late Wednesday morning for the rally.

Many of these supporters say the reason they attended is because they believe there were many discrepancies and fraud when it came to the 2020 presidential election.

We also learned that a group of about 40 people from the Coastal Bend went to Washington D.C. for Trump's rally and are at the capitol right now.

Ernie Pena, whose wife was part of the group of people that traveled to the nation's capitol said, "this is really crucial. Today is a crucial day in Washington, and it's very important that we're there to support."

Several people say they attended the local rally to expose the lies of the election.

"It's about the steal, it's not just this election. It's this election and all the future elections. We want integrity, in our voting process," said Veronica Gonzalez, Trump supporter at the Wednesday rally.

Many supporters feel they cannot accept that President-elect Joe Biden is their president.

"I can't accept it," said Christopher York, who dressed up in an Abe Lincoln outfit holding a large American flag.

"I don't know where we go from here, but I will continue to fight."

The local rally tied in with Trump's national rally in Washington D.C. before the certification of the election results by Congress.

For several months before the election, Trump merchandise was sold in the same parking lot.

Pena said around 4 p.m. that he was told none of the Coastal Bend residents that traveled to Washington D.C. was involved in the riots of the nation's capitol.
