CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The city will be partnering with the Homeless Issues Partnership next week to calculate the number of homeless people in Nueces County.
It's all part of a four-day long survey called the "Point in Time Count."
A training was held for volunteers today to go over the questions they will ask the homeless.
Their primary query is: where homeless individuals slept on Jan. 23.
“The point of the point in time count is to bring ... to show the extent of homelessness, to bring awareness, and to bring funding so the number of individuals experiencing homelessness will dictate the amount of funding that comes into Nueces County,” said Kyle Knutson, president of the Homeless Issues Partnership.
So far, they have gathered 35 people to cover the entire county.
