CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Teachers in Ingleside are getting a nice appreciation gift by way of a pay raise this school year.

On Monday, the Ingleside ISD School Board unanimously voted to approve a 3 percent salary adjustment for teachers and auxiliary staff. Substitute teachers can look forward to a $10 raise. And all employees will have access to supplemental insurance.

The school district says it's a way to show appreciation to teachers and staff for the increased demands lately.

“With the demands that are being placed on our teachers and staff, we wanted to be able to provide them a little extra comfort and show our extreme appreciation for all they are undertaking and accomplishing this school year. Each staff member has gone above and beyond the call of duty and is working hard to ensure the best possible education we can provide for the students of Ingleside ISD.“ said Troy Mircovich, Superintendent of Ingleside Independent School District.

“The sentiment of the board is that we want to support our staff as much as possible during this extraordinary time while we have the opportunity. We are pleasedto be able to have the ability to offer pay increases at this time,” said Julio Salinas on behalf of the Board of Directors for IISD.

The school district will include the pay adjustments in the 2020-21 budget. The pay increases will be reflected in district pay beginning September 15, 2020.
