CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Coy Featherston was a star football player for the King Mustangs back in 1971.
He was in the spotlight again after a recent article by the Austin American-Statesman.
But this time, it was under extremely different circumstances.
It is a true testament to power of friendship and an amazing story about who is getting back on his feet thanks members of his King graduating class of 1971.
Featherston now is homeless and spent more than 20 years living on the streets.
He was profiled in that American-Statesman article, including a photo that illustrated what his life is like now.
Because of that story, and that picture, Coy's friends have rallied together raising money through a Go Fund Me account to get him off the streets and back into a stable living condition.
We will have the full story tonight on KRIS 6 News.
