PORTLAND, Texas — The winter storm warning has led to a number of road closures in the Coastal Bend.
Here in Portland, access to the Harbor Bridge has been cut off.
For obvious safety concerns no vehicles are being allowed to cross.
The weather and road conditions in the area are sloppy with slippery sidewalks. Crews are putting out salt and rock to make sure the road will be safer for you when you venture outside your homes.
TX-DOT and Corpus Christi Police officers say they decided to close multiple roads because of the winter weather.
The City of Corpus Christi's Emergency Operations Center is activated this morning in response to cold and icy conditions.
The city says its closed State Highway 286 from SPID to IH-37 as well as the bridge in both directions until further notice.
The city says the EOC remains activated and it will continue to monitor and respond as needed.
