CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A funeral benefit BBQ was held today at Whiskey River for Gerald Dylan Palmer, who died after a fatal motorcycle accident on December 12.

“Thank you for all of the love and support for my son Gerald Dylan Palmer,” said dad Gerald Palmer.

Palmer said it means a lot for him and his family to see the community and friends come out and support the benefit.

“It means the world to me. I feel like Dylan is here with me right now".

The family has put together this fundraiser to help raise money for funeral expenses. People were able to purchase a food plate for $10, make a straight donation to the family or purchase T-shirts and sweaters in remembrance of their son.

“A good friend, we have his date of birth on the back with the clover. We got a lot of stuff y’all come through, appreciate everyone,” said JC, who was very close to Gerald Dylan Palmer.

Palmer said he knows his son is looking down on them and sees the community coming together. He is thankful for everyone who has shown the family love during these hard times.

“Thank you to all of the bike scene in Corpus that have always supported my son, I love y’all guys,” Palmer.
