CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Since so many people remain without electricity, firewood and propane fuel sales have increased dramatically.

A big crowd showed up at Ed's Firewood on Wooldridge Tuesday picking up as much firewood as possible because they are not sure how long they will be without power.

"We have no electricity at home and I have three kids at the house and the youngest is just 18 months," said Carl Strauss. "We are chilly right now. It's nice to find wood, mom said get over here with 65 dollars cash and I got lucky."

"Everyone is coming in with no power or they have elderly parents or someone they know that does not have power and they are trying to get wood for them, " said Elba Cabellero part owner of Ed's Firewood. "If we run out today, we hope to have more firewood Thursday weather permitting."

Another big crowd showed up at Buster's Propane on Ayers. Many people waited in line for two hours. We caught up with one gentleman from Odem who said the wait was well worth it.

"My water heater is propane and I ran a line and that is what I use for stove," said Hector Barbosa. "I also need it for a small propane heater."
