Fallen 9-11 heroes recalled at Whataburger Field stair climb

A memorial stair climb was held Friday at Whataburger Field memorializing the fallen heroes who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 19^th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks are also being remembered here in Corpus Christi.

This morning, first responders and folks in the community paid tribute with a stair climb tribute at Whataburger Field.

This was the first year that the Corpus Christi Fire Department and the U.S. Coast Guard climbed stairs at the stadium to honor the fallen heroes.

In case you didn't know, each World Trade Center floor had approximately 110 flights of stairs.

At today's tribute, each person had the option to complete 110, 220 or 440 flights of steps.

A moment of silence also took place.
