CORPUS CHRISTI, texas — Students at Gloria Hicks Elementary School added some new additions to their bookshelves.
All 704 students at the school received five new books thanks to our parent company's Scripps Howard Foundation "If You Give a Child a Book" campaign.
Teachers handed out the books to their students and a curbside event was held to deliver the books to those that are distance learning.
The school library also received an additional 409 books.
The books were purchased thanks to the more than $16,000 raised through the campaign.
