CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man was rescued from his truck after he crashed into a power pole along SPID near Nile.

The accident happened around 8 a.m. Monday.

Corpus Christi Police say the man drove off the highway, hit a guard rail, went over a grassy median, hit a parked car and then slammed into a power pole.

He was trapped in his truck and needed Corpus Christi firefighters to rescue him.

Police say he was alert and moving his head when pulled from the vehicle.

Before the driver slammed into the pole, there were people walking on the sidewalk when they saw the vehicle come right towards them.
