SAN PATRICIO COUNTY — A 26-year-old man was killed after his car struck the back of an 18-wheeler in San Patricio County.
The crash happened 3:35 a.m. Friday on north US 77 exit ramp towards Business 77, one mile south of Sinton.
A DPS report states a 2006 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was parked on the shoulder of the exit ramp of US 77 towards Business 77.
A 2016 Ford Flex, being driven by 36-year-old Rocky John William Dunn, was traveling north on 77 and took the exit. The report added Dunn failed to control his speed and struck the rear of the trailer.
Dunn, who is Sinton resident, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
The male driver of the Freightliner was not injured.
DPS Troopers are further investigating the fatal crash.
